Rocco's Spider Bike

This Christmas, I opened one of several small gifts from my husband. In one was a black diamond spider necklace. I thought it was very unique. After all the gifts were opened, he said he had one more in the garage. When I walked through the garage door, I couldn't figure out what I was looking at. See, 3 weeks before, My husband and I were Christmas shopping. He said while we were out, he had a friend that was going to pick our bikes up for winter storage. I freaked and wanted to go home to supervise anyone moving my beloved 2007 1100 V-Star Yamaha Classic. He assured me all would be fine. For the next 3 weeks I gave this man nothing but grief, wanting to check on my bike. Wanting to know exactly where it was. As any good bike lover would! So there I was in the garage Christmas morning dumbfounded. There was my Black V-Star not so black anymore. He had a friend custom paint it pearl white with a big beautiful Black widow painted on the gas tank and another on the front fender, shadowed to look as though they were getting ready to jump off my ride. Spider webs painted on every part of the bike. And in the middle of her red hour glass was the word "rocco". The biker name my husband had given me. (hence the spider necklace)!

Weeks earlier, when we were shopping, his friend hauled my bike 50miles in a snow storm to his shop to paint it. Another friend rode my husbands bike to put in his own garage to make it look like they were in fact in storage. And when the bike was done, one day before Christmas Eve, another friend hauled it back home, and it all came together. All these beautiful friends and the love of a good husband gave me the ultimate dream bike. I have owned 11 in my 51 years, and this one has all the love and beauty in it to keep for eternity! And, hello summer and hello Sturgis #70!!
