My First Bike & Love It

2009 Honda CBR600RR

This is my first bike, 09 Honda CBR600RR. I am short, so the bike is lowered little less than 3 inches, front suspension also dropped to match that.

I always wanted to ride a motorcycle. I first fell in love with dirtbike when I used to go off-roading. But height was always a problem, so I thought.

Then my friend told me bike can be lowered. Since I do not go off-roading, I opt for sports bike. (yes I do like sports car etc) CBR600RR is less than 400 LB wet weight. Everybody thought I should start with 250cc, but I know I would drop any bike in the beginning and I didn't want to deal with carburetor flooding.

I am glad I got this bike. It is actually easy to handle. Sure you can ride it like a rocket if you like, but you don't have to.

I changed the clear windscreen to Zero Gravity black one, asv shorty levers, Wasten Design flush mount front turn signal, Targa Aero mirror, Shogun crash kit which I recently changed the frame sliders to carbon fiber ones, Shogun fender eliminator, rear turn signals from Fatbikez.com, Yoshimura RS-5 S/O CF mufflers. I also painted the tail fairing black instead of red.

I don't ride as long distance as most people. But I am loving riding it.

Pfffttt...

I say to hell with those boys who say we should learn on a 250cc. I learned on a 600cc and road that (2006 R6) for a year and just recently bought a 2006 Ninja ZX-10R (1000cc). I had both bikes lowered to fit my 5'5 frame.

Nice CBR sweetie!

Me Too!

I also started on a CBR600, which I lowered about 1.5" because I'm only 5'2". I also had lots of people (mostly guys!) tell me it was big mistake to start with a 600, that I should have found an old 250. I'm so glad I didn't! Although I had a bit of a steep learning curve the first riding season, I would have quickly outgrown a 250. I love, love, LOVE my CBR and I don't think I'll ever own anything else. Your ride is beautiful, I love the black tail section.
