I Ride 'cause it's Fun
I grew up riding behind my daddy. He put me on his bike for the first time when I was 3y/o. All through my teenage years I rode with him. My parents were divorced so most of the time he would come pick me up on his bike. When I was 16 my horse died, my daddy came to get me on his bike cause he knew that was the one thing that could take my mind off losing my horse. Getting married and having kids sorta ended my riding for several years. After a divorce I met someone who rode. I started thinking about riding my own then. I mentioned it to him and he was like "why". I told him I wouldn't have to wait around for him to take me riding. He began encouraging me then though he said he hoped I would still ride with him some. Last April I bought my "own" motorcycle and my now fiance taught me to ride.
By the way he is a great instructor, very patient. After getting my license, I rode my bike to my daddy's. He seemed rather proud that his daughter now rides her own. Unfortunately his health doesn't allow him to ride anymore. I had a lot of fun listening to his stories of his rides.
I can't describe the feeling I get when I'm riding. It makes you feel so free. It feels like you have left any problems behind, it's just you, God and nature. All your senses seem to come more alive. Which you will really notice when you pass a dead skunk haha.
I would love to find other women riders in this area.
