I love traveling throughout the United States on two wheels, so the bike of choice is to ride on my "White Bunny Bike" for long or short trips. I have so much fun meeting new people throughout the US and when they find out that a woman is riding that big ol' Goldwing, it is even more fun.

Growing up I was scared to death of motorcycles, but in my early 40's I had a friend give a me ride on the bike of his bike, and WoW, did I ever get a thrill. But I wanted to be in control so I bought my first bike at 41 and I am still riding 30 years later.

Classes were not a popular thing on learning to ride so I contacted the Motorcycle Safety Foundation and they sent me a whole bunch of literature on how to ride, and I taught myself how to ride a motorcycle. Twenty years later I took the MSF Rider course and still learned some things about riding safely. Since then I have taken the Experienced Rider Course twice and still re-learn safe riding techniques.

Bikes that I have owned: 1979 Suzuki GS 425E (it had idiot lights to show what gear I was in), 1989 Honda GL1500 (first Goldwing), 1999 Honda GL1500 (first Goldwing to totally destroy), 1993 Honda Shadow 600 (what a step down), 1993 Honda GL1500, 2002 HD Heritage Softail Class (still riding this one) and finally the 2005 Honda GL1800 (White Bunny Bike).

I'm impressed!
by: Cathy

Wow! im impressed! At 58 I took the Mc safety class (and took the best score) now at 60 I'm lovin' my new shadow 600. This is my 2nd yr on the shadow. How do you handle such a large and heavy bike? My son in law has a 85 Gold Wing 1200, I couldnt even lean it up off the kck stand to try a ride (in a large open parking lot). At some point I'd like a bigger bike for a more comfortable ride. Appreciate your comments. Best wishes to you and ride safe.

Thank You Pat
by: Brycie

Hey Pat,

Thanks for the compliment. I just know that you are gonna have a ball on the Dragon. I enjoy it so much that I have ridden it a total of six times (3 with my Harley and 3 with a Goldwing). Enjoyed more each time. Have to admit though that the most I enjoyed it was with the Harley.

I am another "late bloomer", Took the Riders course in April of 07, 2 weeks shy of my 49th birthday. That was 2 years ago, and am now on my 2nd bike. I hope that when I reach your age I'm still riding!! You are an inspiration to all of us...THANKS....(oh, great pic of you "Slayin the Dragon", I'm headed up there in June!!)

For SueZ
by: RebelOne

Yes, Brycie is amazing. I too started riding kinda late, 5 years ago, at 46 and started riding with Brycie?s group 3 years ago. She is such an inspiration that I can keep riding well into retirement. Currently, our farthest south member lives in Demotte; and we have members in Cedar Lake and LOFS. So hopefully we will see you this season.

You Go Girl!!
by: SueZ

Wow! Am I reading right? You are 71?? I just got my licence last year at 50 was kind of depressed thinking I'll probably only ride 10 years or so, or less! You are an inspiration! I'm in Lowell, IN. Do you ride with any women's groups?? I'd love to find one around here!

Great
by: Lizz1958

Thanks for sharing your inspiring story. I, too started riding late in life. I believe it is sweeter because I enjoy it more than I would have in my 20's or 30's. I am 51 now and I hope that I will be riding 'til they put me in the big oven.
