2009 Yamaha V-Star 950

This is a great bike because it isn't pricey, you can get a brand new bike for under $10,000. It has a fairly powerful engine that is there when you need it. The low saddle position is great for short or taller people (I'm 5'10" and people who are shorter and taller than me are comfortable on it too). All the controls are within a comfortable reach without any modifications. My advice for anyone considering a motorcyle purchase is to "try the bike on": sit on various bikes and test the controls for your hands and feet, are you confortable on it, are your feet flat when the kickstand is up and bike is upright. And if you absolutely love it, but it isn't a perfect fit, ask what kinds of modifications can be made. Buy something comfortable for you and not what someone else suggests. I always equate finding the perfect bike to finding the perfect wedding dress....when you see it, you know it was meant for you!

Seating comfortability level
by: Dar

Maeondus, great bike! How is the comfort level with that seat, especially on a long ride? From the side view it doesn't appear to be comfortable. Any input from others who may own a V-star of have heard comments from someone who does?

Thanks,
Dar

950 Vstar

Nice Bike
My friend has a 950 and she loves it. I am looking for a new bike and I find it interesting that you find the 950 tall enough for you. I too am 5'10 and I find the bike a bit short. I am looking at the 1300 vstar. I am hoping to trade my old bike 650 GSXF in this fall.

Enjoy your ride!

Nice bike. Mine's a Kawasaki Vulcan 900, the sister bike of yours. They are both perfect bikes for a FRACTION of the cost of some others.
Lookin good girl!

I agree... nice bike

Great looking bike, and it fits you well. I've got a 2002 1100 V-Star and have no complaints. It's a great running bike with plenty of power and looks awesome, especially after some customizations. Personally, I see no reason to spend thousands more for a bike that gets you a label and not much else.

Love you last comment. I am way too old to think about a wedding dress but I do understand "you'll know it when you see it" Enjoy
