Why I choose to ride "my own" bike?

I'm surprised about the way you phrased the question. Is the assumption that we choose to ride our "own" bikes instead of riding with a man on "his" bike? If so, there's an inherent bias in your question. Would you ever ask a man why he chooses to ride his "own" bike? Many of us ride alone or with other women, so the assumption does not apply! Women riders don't need to justify riding our "own" bikes. We don't need reasons and we don't "need" men, either. But if a sexy man wants to ride along with me, he's MORE than welcome ;)

I think the question was phrased that way because until recently most women did ride on the back of our man's bike. Thank goodness times and things have changed and we are able to decide if we want "our own" bike or not. I don't know what took us so long. I too have the best of both worlds, I ride my own or I can choose to ride with my man.

 What Area of No Cal Amy?

Hi Amy,

I am in Northern CA also. Contra Costa County area. Just curious are you any where near me? I am a new rider and am on a mission to find other women in the area to ride with. So far I'm not having much luck.

BTW, I now have the best of both worlds. I ride my own and 2 up with my sexy Harley Man : )
