She is Blinding! People Stop and Stare!

by Jodi
(Virginia)

Me and my Deluxe, love her!

Me and my Deluxe, love her!

This is my 2005 Softtail Deluxe! She is a gem! Every inch of her is chromed out. People stop and stare. Literally! Every thing has been upgraded with a Harley emblem!

My plate reads "WYKD"

I also have a 98 Sportster and a 01 Dyna!

I have been riding since I was a kid and it is my true passion. I love that more and more women are out there riding now. I smile every time I pass another female rider. Be safe and enjoy every second!!

Spring is Here
by: Jodessa

The spring weather is here!

It is going to be 70 this weekend. Get out there and ride. I can not wait to feel the wind in my face and just be with my friends as we ride thru the Virginia Mountains. This has been a long, cold winter. I am so ready to say goodbye to it.

Be safe everyone.

Starter Bikes
by: Kristy

Congrats on you ladies out there who have gotten the "bug" to get on a bike. I have been riding all my life, for the most part, on my dad's old bikes, excluding my college years and a few thereafter. In 2004, when it was time for me to go out and buy my "first bike" of my own, I sat on a few Harley's and decided on my 2005 Dyna Superglide Custom. A Dyna of any flavor is what I would recommend to any new, or experienced, rider for that matter. They are exceptionally well-balanced, and you do not give up any power or performance to any of the other families that Harley makes, as Dynas have the same size engine as the Softails or the Touring bikes (Road Kings and Electroglides and Road Glides). You would do well to test-ride several, and you will see how top-heavy Sportsters can be, and how front-heavy Road Kings can be. Of course, everyone has their tastes in the look of it, and mine was that I didn't need a "heavy" looking bike, and that I don't like the look of saddlebags, so I like that bagless, sleek look that the Dynas have. With all of the power of the heavier bikes. 5 years and 70,000 + miles later, I'm still happy with mine.

Starter Bike
by: Anonymous

Hi Jodi,

Your bike is off the faheezy!!! for sure. It's a style I can easily get use too. Because I am new to the bike riding scene; and have yet to purchase one; what would you suggest as a good starter bike for me? I really am digging your style of bike, its totally awesome.

Sincerely,

Dorian

We Have finally Arrived
by: Dorian

Hey, I all of a sudden have caught the motorcycle bug. I see sister's in L.A. California riding all of the time. I'm like; whats going? more and more women riders. Its awesome and encouraging me to go and get my own. Well, right now I'm riding the street with my chromed out "BEACH CRUISER" loading with 144 spoke chrome rims, pedals and grips. It's a real pretty metallic looking fuchsia color; this is as close to riding as I've been able to get. Look out for me in the very near future; I will be riding the streets with my Harley.

Thanks you for sharing.

I love your bike!

I FINALLY got my dream bike too. I started riding in 2004 on an '02 lowered 883R. I loved it, I took the course and my husband is the most patient riding coach in existence. We went to Colorado twice and when we hit the mountains I would just fade into the distance. So, I found a 2004 Low Rider. I loved it and would still love it but I have always had my eye on the Deluxe. Every time I sat on one it just felt like a good fit. My husband found an '06 for me and the test ride sealed the deal. I felt more confident and stable than on the Dyna. The lower center of gravity makes her a breeze to ride and maneuver. I couldn't believe an '06 with only 2800 miles! Like new! So, I am planning the rest of my riding career on her. I am almost 5'4" and I can touch perfectly. Like I said, a perfect fit!

Handlebars
by: jodi

Hi. I didn't change the handlebars. That is one of the things about the Deluxe that I love, the fit! The way it feel when you sit down. It just engulfs you. I did change the seat but just for looks, I put a designed seat on it. Sit on the bike and just stay there. If you have to keep shifting around just sitting in a show room, it isn't right. I have rode on long trips and never once felt butt burn.

It is a huge purchase, you need to be comfortable. I love the Deluxe. I am 5'7-1/2 and it is a perfect fit for me.

I have other bikes and this one wins in comfort, for me, hands down!!!

Good luck!

Jodi

Hi
by: Anonymous

I love the bike and your inspiring words!

On this bike, did you change the handle bars at all? I am thinking of getting a HD deluxe. I am a beginner rider and I am sorting out what I like in a bike. i keep going back to HD to sit on bikes and I know the softail deluxe is the Harley I like. I am just not sure of the seat and I am not sure of the handlebars.

I wish to be able to ride the bike for hours. I don't want to buy a bike only to find it isn't right for me.

I am putting miles on my 650 yamaha v star and I question its wide handlebars. I don't feel quite right on that bike either.

Any suggestions or comments about your deluxe and what ladies riding HD deluxe feel about their bikes?

Warm regards,

Enjoy riding, tires on pavement!
