Seating question about the Ninja 250r

by Mandy
(Canada)

I have a quick question about the 2011 Ninja 250r for those who have one.

When you sit on it, are you seated in a more upright position like a touring bike or is more like a sport bike where you are leaning over the bike more to reach the handlebars?

I have considered this bike as a beginner bike but I do not like sitting in an upright position on them. I'm even that way with bicycles so if the Ninja is more like a touring bike, I'll have no choice but to look for something else.

I'm almost 5'1" with a 29" inseam if that's of any help.

Thanks!

Thanks!

The reason I asked was because when I looked up on this, I couldn't find anything that said you could lower the handle bars on the most recent model and when I did find something for the 250 in general, most of the people who said that said changing the handlebars could affect the handling and so on. Raising the bars, however was a different story. That's all I found when researching this.

It's nice to know that it is possible to lower them so I can still keep the Ninja on the top of the list!

Just buy some clip ons

If you don't like the more upright ergos, just get a set of race clip on handlebars. There are designated Ninja 250 races so I'm quite certain there are clip on bars available for the bike.

One of the best things to do for anyone is to personalize their bike to fit exactly how it's most comfortable....don't "throw the baby out with the bath water" by eliminating a bike solely on an issue that can be rectified!
