Recently I had the opportunity to deal with 3 bike related companies for two issues that I had. I will start with the Metzeler Tire Co. Just about 14 months ago, I bought a used Suzuki c50 from an individual. I brought it to my local Suzi dealer in Biloxi, Mississippi and put a matching pair of Metz 880 tires on it. A few weeks ago while out on a ride at a pit stop, a friend noticed a series of small cracks in my sidewall, long story short...dry rot tire, less than 1200 miles in it and neither the dealer or the Metzeler Co would stand behind their product. New tire, Dunlop and another 150 bucks.

ON the other hand, Scorpion helmets honored a warranty on a helmet that got hinky, less than 6 months old and no questions asked! Great service great company!

I have a Scorpion helmet, too. Best damned helmet I have ever owned.

Great Post!

Thanks for a great post. I buy most of my gear, including tires from either motorcycle superstores and rev'zilla. Have not had a problem with returning or exchanging anything.

I am surprised to hear that about Metzeler. I used to put those on my HD and my bf puts them on both his BMW and VStrom, no problems ever.

Tires

This past year I saw great info on reading the tire numbers to determine the month and year the tire was actually made. Sometimes you get a old tire that was never sold and rotated in stock. I will look for the info again because I will be buying Metzeler tires soon and want to make sure it's a newer tire.
