Motorcyle died at 50mph

by Karen
(Milwaukee,WI)

After 3 weeks of not riding( due to the weather), I was riding my gs500e and as soon as I hit 50mph it started to die. Took me approximately 10 minutes to get it started again, but rode a mile and it died again. This time it would not turn on. What could possibly be wrong? Could my battery need a charge? Thanks for your help ?

You could ask these folk

BMW have a great feed-back set-up on f650.com I've heard this happened to a few other F650s so you might look to check there--could give you a very helpful clue.

happened to me...

I was riding around town one day on my Suzuki C50C and could not keep it running; there was a code flashing on my control panel of F1 which indicated a fuel injection issue - no fuel no run...

I don't recall what the dealership did to get her running again, but it was an inexpensive fix. I have NO idea if your problem is similar, but did not know if you had noticed any codes pop up like where your oil change light or trip-ometer displays...

Worth a shot - good luck!
