Is it okay to want to ride for the hotness factor?

by Lindsey
(Spokane, WA)

I've wanted to learn how to ride for years (well, I'm 24, so maybe not as many years as some women here, but since I got my driver's license), and I'm finally taking my endorsement course in April. I've never been able to try and ride on my own due to my height (when your boyfriend is a full 12 inches taller than you...trying to ride his bike is not a good idea) so I'm looking forward to the MSF course. I'm just planning on getting a Ninja 250 if I take to it, nothing too powerful, but I do only want a sport bike.

That being said, is it okay that a large reason (I think) for my wanting to learn to ride is so I can be the badass chick who knows how to ride a motorcycle? Obviously I'm willing to put in the time and money here so I'm not just wearing a jacket with no skills to back it up, but I'm just wondering what made you women want to ride. ~elcee

Hotness Factor
by: Randi

Bottom line: My spouse had love at first sight when I pulled up on my bike and tossed my hair out of my helmet when we met for our first date. Nine years later, still watches me from the porch as I head out for a ride. I'm not sure which one of us is smiling more when I come home.

Ride for any reason that moves you and your bike!!!
by: Linda

I don't think that riding for the hotness is any different than buying a hot car! It is just that most people would not have the guts to say it. I am proud of you for speaking your mind instead of stepping around the issue. I understand you want a sport bike, I guess younger people would but honey, I don't understand for the life of me how in the world you can ride very far leaning over the gas tank and smelling the fumes.

You go girl and the best of luck!!!

It is Ok

It is okay to ride for whatever reason u want to. Other people r gonna judge u if u r riding, driving or saving a life. And yes, it is sexy for women to drive their own bike. It is ur goal and I wish the best in luck reaching it. Stay tuff and sexy nothing wrong with that.

Riding

At 24 I can see where the "hotness" factor may be an added attraction. One of my good friends rides a HD Sportster but recently adopted a Ninja 250 and loves to ride both bikes. You may love to ride your own bike or decide it's more fun riding on back. Just don't get discouraged the first time you fall down and give yourself plenty of beginner practice time. Don't let your boyfriend push you beyond your limits.
