Have ridden with the hubby for two years now, It's time for my own.What is the best type of scooter/bike for a plus size woman to start out on?

I got my own

I started out on a 250, moved up to a 650 then 950 in the Yamaha line - but dream bike after 2nd year was the Harley Deluxe.
BUT START OUT ON A USED 650 yamaha. That size would be great. It will keep up on back roads and on highway for short distances. I got the silverado deluxe with saddlebags & windshield. Loved it.

I got my first bike a couple of months ago. It's a 650cc Yamaha V Star Classic. It's a great bike. It sits fairly low to the ground so it's suitable for someone who's not tall. If you'd prefer a Harley, try out the Fat Boy. I believe they both have a seat height of about 27 inches.

I am 5'3", size 18

I started riding my dad's Honda Nighthawk 250. I now ride a Honda Shadow 500. Both were good heights for my inseam. If this is your first bike and you are just learning, definately start out with a 250. Your skills will probably outgrow the bike quickly, but its the perfect starter size bike.

Next year I hope to move up to an 1100 because I want to go across country, but definately am glad I started out small.
