The "CM" is the model designation.

There is no difference, except that the engine size is actually 395cc. Virtually all motorcycle manufactures use letter designations for different models of bikes, especially in the '70s and '80s.

For instance, my '75 RD350 actually has a 347cc motor; my '76 RD400 is actually 398cc motor. My '75 RD60 has a 55cc motor, and my 2003 "Z1000" actually has a 953cc motor. While engine sizes normally are very close to the stated size for marketing purposes, they normally are not "spot on."

Also, I bet you learned your lesson about not buying anything without receiving the title at the same time. And beware if you buy from someone with several bikes...once I had a bike all loaded up in my pickup, and just before paying the guy, I checked the VIN on the title against the bike. It didn't match....so he had to unload the bike and I left with my $$$ intact without the bike.
