I'm so glad I found this site ! I am a new rider but have been riding with the hubby for many years. I have my license (bucket list) and have been looking for a bike for awhile. Hard to find one here in NJ they go so fast. Our friend wants to sell his honda vtx. we are going to check it out and see how it feels but I cant say i will test ride it because I am too dam nervous that I'll drop it. When I'm by myself I am better. I'm sure you gals know what I mean. I've had a few experience woman riders say its a great bike to learn on and handles well. I am not a small woman by any means...that's another story. Was wondering what you guys think?

I actually started out on a Honda VTX 1800. I am only 5' tall (really freaking short). I tippy toed at every stop and couldn't back it up, but it was a shared bike with my ex. I rode it for 2 years then bought the one i have now. It's a Yamaha V-Star 1100. Let me tell you, i miss the power on that 1800, but this one fits me perfectly. I think you will b perfectly happy with the 1300. I have no problems keeping up with my dads road king or any of the other guys bigger bikes. Sit in the seat, see if ur butt fits and you can reach both the ground and the handle bars. Cause both are eaqually as important. You want a comfy ride for you, not what anyone else thinks. I have rode mine for i think 8 years, been a while. PS, seat can be switched out for comfort. I have a mustang seat and love it, super comfy. Good luck.
