First timer...

by Neo G-B
(Gaborone, Botswana)

Hi, Neo here, GREETINGS FROM BOTSWANA!

Im a new rider, still learning to ride. I have just enrolled into a basic rider's course, and understand it will take me about 2 months to finish (and hopefully pass!). Im 41, just turned; and my friends tell me Im experiencing 'midlife crisis' - I think not. Its only now that my kids are out of home and I get to spend my money on the things I love, and BIKE has been on the list for the longest time! That that time came in my 40s is besides the point/just detail... Lol! I am, at the moment, shopping for a first timer's bike, we have the lot over here, and I can ship from all over the world. But... Im told I need something really small to start with; some Yamaha or Suzuki - even though Im terribly inlove with Harley! My trainer got jokes like that!

Very soon you will receive actual pictures of me riding, with men - there is only one club that is male dominated. Watch out for me!

Please give me suggestions and reasons, where you can. Im learning...

PICK A BIKE FOR YOU!!!
by: Cheryl R.

This is my 2nd season riding, I say season bcuz in Chicago rides during the winter months are few and far between. I got my "M" license last year at the age of 44. I new I wanted a Harley for my 1st bike and that Is what I got!!! I sat on ALOT of bikes at alot of different dealerships from baggers to the Sporter, to choppers....I chose a 2006 Harley Sportster 1200Low and I LOVE IT!!! People tell me I will out grow it and if I do, so beit, but this is my 2nd year and I have no plans on trading it anytime soon.
My point is don't listen to ppl tell u what your 1st bike should be...sit on them, test ride them if you can and then choose....A Harley might be for you or might not...don't rule anything out until you shop around. Good Luck and Ride safe :)

My first motorcycle
by: Tonya B

I was 39 when I bought my first bike. A Suzuki Boulevard S40. It's a 650, I chose it because my husband & friends told me I would regret it if I bought a 250. I would out grow it very quickly. Also needed something with a low seat hight as I am only 4'11". A windshield is the only accessory I added. It was a great improvement. Gave me more confidence ridding at highway speed. Happy ridding

Welcome!!!
by: Anonymous

I learned to ride when I was 50 and have been riding for about a year. It's great fun -- don't let folks talk you out of it!

I started out on a Suzuki Savage (650cc) and found it to be a great beginner bike. Not too big but had enough power to keep up with traffic.

Now I ride a Honda Shadow Ace (750cc) and it's about 150 lbs heavier and I absolutely love it!

Follow your dreams and ride safe!!
