Cure for Helmet hair

by Natasha Marshall
(Sunshine Coast Australia)

For long hair a french plat helps. the tie is outside of the helmet so no painful pressure point. The French Plat weaves close to the head and in not uncofortable inside the helmet. I French Plat mine when I am riding on the road or when I am doing a spot of dirt bike riding and althow I am still not happy with the photo quality of the hair it still looks desent stays out of my face and I can get a brush through it. (Trust me that is a blessing after a long day on the bike)

French Braid! IF you have long hair...
by: Big Red

French braid works great, and no pressure points inside your helmet. Or being quick with taking your helmet off and putting a baseball cap on REALLY FAST works too ;-)

French Plaits
by: Anonymous

Like others, I had no clue what French Plait was so I looked it up and discovered it is AKA French Braid. I have done this on myself for years and it really isn't as hard as it appears. Google it and you can get instructions. ENJOY THE RIDE!

Hair by Helmet
by: Wendy - Sydney

I too have long hair but am unable to plait it.. As a quick and easy method I simply but a tie at the base of the helmet and some others down the length. May not be as flash as plaits go but I find it doesn't cause as many knots.

I've been reading all the comments about helmets and hair and what to do.....Everyone has great ideas...and I don't know what a french ? plat? thingy is anyway, but what about us gals who ride all the time, work, school, store, repeat...Don't have time to put my hair up special everytime I jump on the bike, so you know what I do. "nothing". don't care...it's just hair, natural and what it is just IS.
