I love to read the articles from the 50+ plus group. I love that you see age as just a number. I am 73 and love to ride and I ride at least 200 mi. A week and enjoy every glorious mile.Every day is a new adventure and every time I get off I just can't wait til I get on again...When you see a woman on a bike wave. It might be me. Be safe and keep on riding.... A FL. Windsister!

Riding
by: Anonymous

We love the Ozarks of Arkansas. There are some very nice twisties and beautiful scenry. I'm 65 years old and have been riding solo for about 10 years. My hubby and I both ride Yamaha 950's. We have been all over central US from Texas to Montana. Riding is such a wonderful experience; the smells, the wind in your face, feeling of accomplishment, its therapy. While still working a few years ago, sometimes after a long, hard day, I would ride for a little while in the afternoons and the stress would just melt away.

I love to hear of other women having the love of riding as I also do. I'm 58 and just got my license last year and LOVE IT! I live in Southeastern PA and took my first long distance road trip to the Outer Banks NC and then headed west to the Skyline Drive in VA. Riding the mountains was breathtaking and how I loved those windy turns. I ride a BMW, what an awesome machine. Keep the rubber to the road and keep riding!!!

The numbers don't count
by: Hi Judy and sisters

I thank you all for the words of encouragement..Time seems to fly, but I keep on trucking. Seems that we have a lot in common. II have this place in Asheville NC with. lots of twisty roads... My favorites. I love them thar hills..I can't say that I feel a lot different than I Idid when I was 22 ,the important thing is to to do what you love and love what you do. Motorcycling is so right for me. Oil and gasoline runs in my blood and If you ever get to the point you can't do something, then find something you can do.There is nothing in the world that compares with the sun on your skin, the openness which surrounds you that glorious air which is sometimes mixed with gas fumes.... Smells like heaven to me and I just can't wait to get around that twisty turn and on to the next.

Hi FL Windsister!

Well I can tell you I'm quite certain EVERYONE here love to hear of a woman your age riding too! I'm 56 and have been riding solo on the street since '77 and wouldn't have it any other way. There have only been two times I've ever ridden on the back: the first time ever on a bike, age 7--which scared me, but thrilled me even more-- and age 22, too inebriated to really by on a bike, as passenger or rider, and it ended badly with a serious crash.

I'm just one of those who've never had a penchant for being a passenger. That doesn't make it wrong for anyone else, just me.

Most of my ridng is on mountain and foothill twisty roads on my vintage 2-stroke Cafe Racrs, which range in age frm 1966 to 1985, but most from the '70s. This type of motor is really easy to rebuild; no having to learn how to service or repair cams or valves, nonexistent on these, but they have basically 2x the HP of four stroke motors of the same era.

Have you ridden in the Ozark Mountains? I've heard there are a bunch of really nice roads in that region.
