1 Woman, 1 Bike, 10K Miles

Follow me.

One woman, one motorcycle will embark on a 10,000 mile, two month adventure around the country. Her journey will be broadcast across the globe via web cast as she rides from So. California across Texas to Louisiana to reconnect with the people she helped during Hurricane Katrina. From Daytona Beach to the Veterans Wall, New York to Los Angeles you will discover what she has already found in her earlier travels. That the United States is still full of joyful, kind and faithful people. And that you can do anything you want to do especially as a woman.

As a film maker and writer Alystar McKenneh prefers to work on projects that rehabilitate the emotionally desensitized, tell the truth and remind people especially women and children, it’s not what they call you, it’s what you answer to that will define you.

Her journey of 10,000 miles personifies the strong independent women she found at the end of her struggle to survive a childhood some would consider a nightmare. A story that she plans to make into a film later this year in the Black Hills of So. Dakota.

As a biker who has taken a long journey to self discovery, she is the woman she had hoped to be when she grew up. Follow her!

Join her March 1st as her journey kicks off in Los Angeles.

The Bike...
by: Alystar McKenneh

TigerLily is a 1999 Heritage Softail. I had a few things changed on her before I picked her up, Fatboy bars, LaPera Seat, Thunder Headers, custom bags and crash bars. Other than that she is stock. I've had three flat tires and replaced 5 starters. I finally opted for a high-torque starter and have had no problems since.

Other than the three flat tires, Once when a chain rolled out of a boat being towed and hit my valve stem, Once I ran over a nail coming from the Elton John concert during the 100th and once my axle shifted riding home from Chicago after I got a new tire. Other than that she has been a gem.

You can see her at Road to Sturgis

www.roadtosturgis.net is alive
by: Alystar

The site is up, not completely finished but you can see what I'm up to and bookmark it for future reference. I ride a 2000 Harley Davidson Heritage Softail, with a gun slinger seat so I wouldn't have to lower her. (5'5 with short legs). And "fat boy" bars just because I like how it feels. On March 1st I plan to start from Los Angeles (site to be determined) and head across Texas toward New Orleans. In Arizona I will be stopping at "Sucker Punch Sallys", "Bagger Nation" and a womans garage night. Any of you amazing women who want to join me even for a few miles are welcome. This weekend I'm going to the V Twin show in Cincinnati and when I return I will have a more complete route with the stops included on the site.

Any rider who has an amazing story and who is anywhere close to the trip path, I would love to hear your stories. If you wouldn't mind me shooting them and using them and you of course in an upcoming segment. www.roadtosturgis.net

Sounds like an interesting story; I'd like to follow it, too. But I'm with the previous poster in asking where is the bike, and especially what is the bike?
