Zippers for Jacket and Pants

Zippers for Jacket and Pants

Is it imperative for the two pieces to zip together. I have a FS jacket and a Joe Rocket pants and the zippers are opposite making it impossible to zip together. How important is it for the two pieces to zip together? At the costs of this gear I'd like to get it right the first time. All opinions welcome.

Not really an issue for me.

I used to fret about this. Then I eventually had a set of gear where the zippers did match up. Maybe I'm just the world's biggest incompetent, but I found that zipping the pieces together took a fair amount more coordination than I was gifted with. That is to say, I believe this is a task best suited to acrobats. If I opt to do a track day it will be necessary, but I don't foresee that in my future.

If this really bothers you (and i understand cuz it used to drive me nutz!), you'll notice that both parts of the zipper are provided with gear when you buy it. You can take the other half of the zipper from the jacket and ask someone who sews to attach it to the pants you want to wear with that jacket.
