SHIFTTHROTTLEANDRIDE

My husband taught me how to ride, 6 yrs ago, when we moved from Mi to Ga. Now I know why he's ridden for 36+ yrs. The first time, while learning, he let me go...I laughed and giggled and smiled from ear to ear. Wow! This feels great. I'm doing this on my own.

What a wonderful new found experience for us to share. No longer on the back of his bike, but, in control of my own. That MSF course replaying in my mind and all the videos from the Motorman keeping me focused on the task at hand.

Meeting folks along the way at every stop for fuel or food or a rest is amazing. Nice conversations with strangers, along the way.

What a wonderful group bikers are. They sure get a bad wrap. If folks only new how caring and helpful they are, that stereotype would be gone.

breaking the ice

One thing I learned quickly is that pulling in anywhere on a motorcycle quickly breaks the ice. Being a woman rider I can usually expect some sort of comment. I ride 2 completely different looking bikes and when I'm on my Lil' Pink she certainly gets the comments rolling!

I relate motorcycle riding to falling in love. You get excited when you walk in the garage and see your bike and just can't wait to send time together.
