Winter Battery Care

by Pat
(Rochester, NY)

I have a Honda Rebel 250 and l'm gonna put it away for winter in storage room. My question is: Should I take the battery off the bike?

Your best is to put a tender on the bike keeping the battery charged during the winter. Add Stabilizer to the gas tank and start it every week for about 5 min. If that is not possable add the stablizer or empty the tank and remove the battery. Bring it indoors and store it up off the ground, and defenatly not on concrete.
This should keep it safe, but make sure it has a full charge before reinstaling it in the bike to save having to remove the seat again to charge it.
Come spring, go for a good safe ride.
