There are a huge number of men & women out there who feel quite comfortable riding around in flipflops,..I say its irresponsible, anal, and shows poor character in the rider, regardless of the weather, being a looky loo & thinkin that you look the part!

I can not believe that goes on. Maybe its the UK climate that prevents people doing that over here; that said I have seen people in trainers and plimsoles and thought how crazy even that is...so flip-flops I'd say is utter madness.

I cannot imagine riding my mc in flipflops. Hubby and I wear our coats, boots and Helmets (which are mandatory in our province thank goodness)

Had a girl come over to my house to ride dressed in flip flops. Told her it wasn't safe and this would be the last time I rode with her if she was wearing flip flops. Turned out I should have been smart enough to know not to go at all. Stupid thang decided to ride her bike under a rope at the Walmart garden center, forgetting about her sissy bar, she dropped the rope behind her head. Rope caught on sissy bar. I am sitting there, kickstand down. Rope wraps around me in a figure 8 somehow, pulling me off of my bike and across the Walmart parking lot behind her bike while she takes off. Half a dozen men chasing after her. She has no biker honor either, 100k in insurance, 10k out of my pocket and she hasn't offered any assistance, not even KFC. There you go...thats what you get for riding in flip flops and if you are stupid enough to ride with someone stupid enough to wear flip flops on a motorcycle.

Yesterday afternoon on 'Country Fried Videos" with Bill Engvall as the host, they had a young man on a sport bike. He had his boots and helmet, and nothing else (naked except for boots and helmet). He was popping wheelies and showing off on a fairly busy highway. He flipped the bike over and hit the pavement. They blurred out parts, but they showed his back with huge patches of skin missing. I can't believe how stupid some people are.

I say it's like the helmet laws... In my opinion (and yes, I wear all my gear), you should be allowed to not wear anything if that's your desire. Let's weed out the stupid ones, hopefully before they breed! It makes those of us who do wear our gear look bad. I have had rocks hit me when I was wearing blue jeans AND chaps, and leave big bruises. Falling happens to the best and long time riders. Twice I've ruined boots from a fall that didn't cause much injury to myself or the bike. If you want to ride with no shoes, no shirt, and barely anything on your butt... well, I hope for the best for ya, but I would laugh before I'd cry over your road rash!

if you're going to wear flip flops whilst riding, you might as well leave the helmet home as well. I believe in ATGATT.




and I don't care how my hair looks after a ride. It just goes into a braid or two, and a ball cap on top.
