Wow! Donna, I'm impressed with your friend's skill and courage in that situation. Our worse experience does not rival yours!

I also have gotten caught in the rain and hail. I was riding with my boyfriend and it started to rain so we stopped to get our rain gear on and I will tell you that that didn't even help. NOTHING helped. I could barely see his tail lights. It came down with a vengeance. My hands also wouldn't straighten out. I had puddles of water built up in my sleeves. Oh it was terrible. I never want to get caught in that kind of storm again. My boyfriend got caught in it twice that week. I was so worried. I live in Upstate NY near Syracuse.
I am so glad you have your own bike and I just love mine. I have a 1200L Sportster. But I have driven my friends bike. He let me borrow his one day while mine was being repaired. Factory problem. I am so antsy to ride. I cannot wait until the junk is washed off the road.
You have a great summer and fall. Enjoy the ride.
