Ninja's
by: julie

I started on a Honda 500 but I fell in luv with the Ninja. They are an awesome bike and they are sexy little machines:) I have a beautiful metallic blue 250cc and I just luv it..Quick, fun very comfortable and forgiving. Great starter and if down the road the 600 ninja is basically the same except more power. Enjoy and sit on a lot of bikes:)

Thanks

I'm going to do that, I have ridden on a few different types of bikes as a passenger, so I'm going to find the right one for me! I just want to say thank you to who ever leaves a comment in helping me get the perfect bike! Thanks again Kim

Ninja is a fine choice.

I agree, go sit on a bunch of bikes.

If it is truly what you want, a 250 Ninja would be a good choice, and at your height you won't be too tall for it. It's a very nimble, fun bike to ride and not intimidating at all, in fact it is a very forgiving ride and is generally recommended as a first bike. It's probably the best choice as a "first bike" in the sport bike world, and lots of people choose to never move up because it's just a FUN, cute bike that gets amazing mpg. As a bonus, they're inexpensive and easy to find used. People whom are unfamiliar with sport bikes will group it with any of the supersports out on the street and call it dangerous because they look like the dangerous supersports that are out there, but not to worry, the baby Ninja would be fine.

But do take the MSF course before you purchase anything, and don't skimp on gear. Get a helmet, jacket, gloves, and riding jeans (with kevlar lining).

Admittedly my opinion is biased, I bought my ninja after a year of riding a bigger bike. This bike is so much more fun. I take it everywhere.

Sit on a BUNCH!
by: Sandra

With your height, you are not as limited or intimidated as some of the shorter ladies may be...I would suggest sitting on every make and model you can find at several dealers. I keep reading bikes are meant to be customized to their rider - if the handle bars feel to wide they can be changed out; forward foot pedals uncomfortable? Move them. But as far as how you feel sitting any given bike, there's no talking that will convince you as much as trying them ALL on for size! And it's fun!! Just don't fall in love with a color or paint combo or whatever before learning about the bike, its reliability and how it compares to other bikes in its class.

Enjoy!! Take your time and get it right.
