What to Look for No Matter What You Are Looking For

We women look for things all of the time. We look for the right college, the right career, the right home to live in. We look for the right person to love (and end up loving all of the wrong ones along the way); we look for the right way to raise our children or the right way to keep from having them. We look for the right way to keep our health and the right way to live our lives. We look for the right house, the right neighborhood and for many of us, we look for the right bike to ride and the right club or group to ride with. For all of these searches, there are a few universal things we should look for. Whether you are looking for a new bike, a replacement bike, or anything else that will play a major role in your life, the search starts with a few questions.

First, ask yourself how the bike (house, man, job, etc.) makes you feel at this very moment in your life. How will it make you feel in a month, a year or ten years down the road? Will you still be wildly in love with it in ten years or will you be looking to upgrade, improve or completely change what you have? Yes, you can have these thoughts about a lover. You can tell when you are looking at a fling and when you are looking at the real deal, but even real and true love can fizzle or falter in the cold light of reality, no matter how much work we are willing to put into it.

Second, ask yourself how the bike (or anything else) will improve your life. You will notice that is not how it will change your life because it should not. It should not make you feel better about you. It should not make you feel worse about yourself. It should improve the quality of the life that you are choosing or it may not be the right decision for you.

Third, will I be able to get back out of the contract for this bike (house, man, tugboat, etc.) if I decide it is not really what I want or need? When you buy a bike that you have financed, you can sell the bike if you can find someone to take over the payments. Once the bike is yours you can sell it, trade it or anything else that you would want to do with it. But, when you get married, some women become convinced that they are stuck, that they can’t leave the marriage if it is not working for them. Always make sure you have an out, with financing contracts, with lovers and with anything else. Never let one thing be a defining factor for you, so you can always make the change if you need to.

You should look for what makes you happy now, and forever more, no matter what it is that you are looking for.

Bikes? Men? Whatever?
by: Anonymous

Along the same line, this is about romance but it doesn't say if they are talking men? bikes? whatever?

• It is not just how you feel about them,
It's more about how they make you feel about yourself

• It's not just about losing yourself in them,
It's about becoming true to yourself in them

• It's not just how great they are,
It's how great you can be alongside them

• It is not just how much you love them,
It's how they help you love yourself

• It is not just about them finding room in their heart for you,
It's finding room in their life for your energy, drive, ambitions, passions and interests

• It is not just about how good they are deep down,
It's how much your experience their goodness as you live your life together

• It is not just the love you share,
It's your ability to fully, equally, deeply share your life together

• It is not just about how they make you hungry to be with them,
It's about how much they make you feel at home when you are with them

LIGHTEN UP A BIT!!!!
by: Sassy2731

Sounds like you may second guess everything in life that you do and that you are not secure with any of your decisions. Life will always have ups and downs, but it is how you look at life that matters and how you handle those ups and downs. Myself, I live each day to its fullest and try to enjoy each and everyday. If you worry that much and put that much thought into living life then I think you need to lighten up a bit. I love to ride also. It is my wind therapy to relax and de-stress myself. If you can't enjoy your motorcycle and or your life then maybe you need to give up everything. My main question in life when making decisions is: Do I need it or do I just want it? I use that question a lot. I need my motorcycle for my wind therapy. I need my husband for love. I really don't need much of anything else. You just have to learn to enjoy and love life itself and try to forget about misery because misery loves company!

Analyzing Too Much
by: Wanda

I ride my motorcycle for enjoyment and adventure. I think when buying one it is smart to consider what type of riding you want to do, and that will dictate the style bike you get: crotch rocket, touring bike, dual sport, standard, cruiser, etc. Then, comes fit. Buying a bike is a lot like buying shoes; if the fit isn't right, you won't be comfortable, and you will hate the bike, no matter how good it looks. To me, motorcycling is about the journey and enjoying the ride which is the same way I approach life. I believe riding more, living more, and analyzing less is the way to go!

Too Heavy!!!
by: Anonymous

It seems that we are writing testimonials and too much thought into our comments.

I think riding a motorcycle is an accomplishment but not a life changing decision I am still the same person and living my life very much the same before I took up motorcycling, some of my friends may think I'm crazy but get real too much thinking lets think of the extra enjoyment we are having.

Nice Bike
by: Lynn - Florida

Pretty bike! I ride a VStar 1100 and love my cruiser bike.

It is always good to try to be prepared in life, but it doesn't always fit in a nice and orderly package.

I try to plan ahead, but I also live each day like it could be my last. I tell people I love them, I ride when I want to and work hard at my job. I try not to project too far down the road, because that is a useless waste of energy.

No regrets! There will be good times and bad times. I embrace it all! Bring it on!

My Bouvlevard
by: house mouse

I agree with most of what you say about having a way out of any situation not matter what it is.

I also searched for almost two years for the perfect replacement bike for my old Suzuki gs650 that was getting tired and needed more tlc than I could give it.

I finally purchased last year my Boulevard and I love it and have put almost 10k on it since I have had it. It is a comfortable ride and well worth the money. I did sit only lots of other brands and styles of bike but kept coming back to the boulevard. I found that a lot of the bikes especially the Harley's were very heavy and seat/tank to wide for me to be comfortable on or the foot controls too far forward for me.

Good luck with your boulevard.

Ride safe and enjoy!

LOVE THE BIKE!!
by: Sandra

Probably why I bought one just like it...

As for the sentiment, always having an escape route in place for every commitment of my life?

Nah; I'm going in with everything I got! If it all goes bad, I'll just have to find my way. I do not choose to live my life with a right of recision clause on my every choice.

Sometimes you just gotta MAKE IT HAPPEN!

As for my bike? I hope to actually purchase a Harley for myself someday. I will keep looking for that perfect bike; but it will never take away the passion I have for bai Shen-Long - my White Dragon!
