Wear a Silk Scarf Under Your Helmet

Each year after a season of riding my color-treated hair was fried and it took the entire winter to get it back to normal. I finally found three things that have made a huge difference: 1. The scarf; must be silk, not synthetic. Tie it any way you wish, but I think the ends hanging down my back are pretty. My hair is not so matted down and it is not treated to what is essentially a sand-paper action that comes from the inside surface of the helmet.
2. A shampoo that is sulfite-free. I guess the chemical is too harsh for me, this has helped my hair return to a silky, shiny state. 3. Turn the temp. down on your hair dryer. Medium heat is just fine and it has let me stop frying my hair every day.
