Waterproof Gear?

I have leather chaps and jacket, and recently was soaked in a rainstorm. I'm looking for a waterproof lightweight solution to go over them just for when it rains; separate pieces. Also need a suggestion for lightweight waterproof boot covers, or just a great pair of riding boots. I'm not looking to spend a lot of money, so a cheaper solution would be better. Thanks!

Watch your pipes!

I was recently caught in a storm and pulled out my Harley rain gear. It worked great. When the rain stopped, we all pulled over to put our gear away. After I had gotten off my bike, I noticed that a small portion of the pants had actually melted on my pipes. I don't know if this happened while I was riding or when I got off. Now I not only have a hole in my rain gear, but I also have the melted material on my pipes (very difficult to get off!!) I don't know what the answer to this problem is, but the Harley rain gear is awesome, just watch your pipes!

But if you don't mind paying, Harley rain suits are pretty awesome. They REALLY keep you dry and comfortable. I have had plenty of opportunity to use mine, I just keep them in my saddle bags. They are also great when it is cold out at night or in the winter if your leathers aren't enough. They are not really easy to put on but to me it is worth the work because there is nothing worse than being miserable and wet when riding.

Rain Gear

If you're looking for an inexpensive rain pants and jacket, try Frog Togs. You can roll'em up after you take them off and stuff into a saddle bag or back pack.
