Trouble Starting Bike after Stall

I have a BMW G650 GS. I have been riding it around in circles in my backyard. I just got the bike this week and have practiced riding for two consecutive days. Never driven a motorcycle before this week. I notice if I stall after I've been riding for a few minutes, the bike doesn't want to start again. The engine turns, but it doesn't fire up. If I let it set for 15 to 20 minutes, it will start with no problem. Is this a common thing? I am very new to motorcycles.

Also, I can go around the yard clockwise in first gear with no problems. I handle the right turns with relative ease. I find that I am much more nervous going counterclockwise or making repeated left turns. Has any one else had anxiety when executing left turns? I am right handed--not sure if that makes a difference.

Yesterday, I went out to ride and the bike would not start at all. The engine turned very slowly, but would not start. I charged the battery overnight, and the problem seems to be fixed now. Thank goodness.

I practiced my left turns today too, and I am much more comfortable now.

Sounds Like You are Flooding Her

Don't use the throttle or give her gas when you restart her, but I wonder why she is stalling in the first place?

It is perfectly normal to feel more comfortable going around turns in one direction versus the other. Just practice...time and practice will make the difference.

Stalling Bike

You must end up flooding the bike. That is a common thing, don't worry about it. You will get better at it.
