Training Wheels

by Kim

My question is, is there a training wheel out there for a Honda Shadow 600 VLX. I believe if I could use this, it would bolster my confidence.

You can lift it, its just the methodology, there is a technique i saw online somewhere on how to do it, I'm sorry I don't know the link. I have the same bike 2007 Honda Shadow 600, I'm 5'2" 120lbs (well maybe 125 now, lol) but its not a hulk thing, it's a leverage thing... I hold the front brake and turn the handles opposite from the lean of the bike and use my legs, you can do it. If i find the link I'll share it. Ride safe.

Check Out Bombardier
by: Anonymous

My husband's coworker has a set on her Honda, don't know the size of the bike, but the conversion kit was from Bombardier. She said they are pretty easy to hook on and take off. Talk to some of the motorcycle shops, they should know what you're looking for, and at least give you something to search for on e-bay.

Ghost Wheels

I just saw a bike on ebay w/them. Google "Ghost Wheels" to check them out, cost about $6000. Kinda cool. They move up out of the way if you don't want to use them & move with the bike on curves.

Miss Pinky Leigh
by: Linda

Take a look at my bike, Miss Pinky Leigh, I get a lot of comments on it, I added a Voyager Kit to it because it can be removed by taking out 3 bolts and ride it away. After having the kit, I will never take it off. I love it. The only draw back is that it does not include a reverse gear. I had knee surgery and was afraid of holding up the weight of the bike, now I am foot loose and fancy free!!

I had never driven a bike until a year ago and now I am hooked. If you have questions, about a kit, I will be happy to help you.

Good luck and GOD BLESS!!

Kim, your probably not interested in a trike, but this website might be able to help you locate the 'training wheels' or sometimes called 'ghos wheels' that you are wanting for your bike:

Me too!

Actually the only time that I had ever ridden a motorcycle was in the safety class to obtain a license. Thank God I did'nt have to take the driving test. I was the weakest rider in the class, but I did it. Yes I have had crash bars installed. I'm with you, I really believe I should have purchased the 250 until I built my confidence up. Too late now. I really don't think my question was a stupid one, the only question that is Stupid is the one never asked! Lol! Broke some parts laying the bike over and had them replaced, while doing so the repairman told me he had once seen a lady that had training wheels on her Harley 883, and kept them there for a whole year. I have looked high and low for traing wheels for my Honda Shadow 600 VLX, no such product, and yes I would use such a product if there was one. It would'nt bother me a bit to be laughed at. If ayone knows where I can find some, by all means chime in.

Honda 600 VLX

I am curious, do you have side guards on your bike? Are you able to pick it up? I have made myself afraid of mine, it is the same bike as yours. I have dumped it twice just trying to leave my house. I have no problem once I am riding but I cannot pick it up by myself. Afraid now to ride it. Am going to get a 250 Honda Rebel to get more used to riding. What are you doing? I love the 600 just mentally psyched out about not being able to lift it.
