The Silver Lining

Ah, motion. It's why we go to fairs & festivals & ride those vomiting conducing rides. I love fresh air, rainy air, cool air - sniff! sniff! Like the dogs I joyfully wave to, I love sticking my head in the wind; this is also how I do my hair outside any car window. It's fun! When I'm wrapped up in my leather & helmet I'm a PART of the scenery others see; I'm in it, & try not to run over darting squirrels.

I'm 36 & have been riding since 1996.

Plus, whatever happens during the work-day, I just gear up & ride away. Those work thoughts are safely behind me for tomorrow; I need not think of them until then. My "Silver Lining" Honda ST1300 silver 2007 motorcycle is the best thing that helps me learn control over my own actions. If I choose to lean too far in a turn, I see the effect & tactfully speed up to get out of it. Simple. I'm my own experiment.

My self-image & esteem are on an upswing because I have my own transportation, my own way to get to a common destination & I thoroughly enjoy the speeding sensation.

There is an underlying downside to being a female rider. Motorcyclist are assumed to be male. When the helmet comes off & the hair spills out, there is a shocked look & I have to wait for others to get over it. Then again, I feel like I have a secret identity because if I do something stupid like not use my turn signal & get honked at, car drivers always yell & honk at the "guy" on the bike. Ha ha! Fooled you!
