Summer Riding jacket?

by Noelle
(Freehold, NJ)

Hey ladies, need some help finding a lightweight mesh summer riding jacket. I'm an "all the gear, all the time" girl, but I'm melting on my new air-cooled Harley with my black vented mesh jacket. I was thinking of maybe white? Harley makes a beautiful one, but they are on backorder til September when I'll be ready for leather. Any suggestions?

Chandra, I have the same jacket. As far as durability in a slide, my 17 year old son has the male version of this. He had a low side crash (25mph)recently when he was wearing it. The mesh part below the elbow was slightly scratched. On his arm he had a very fine scratch and that was all. His Kevlar lined jeans protected his knee as well. He had a small scratch on it. I was so relieved he geared up even though mom and dad weren't at home to remind he to. His only "injuries" were a sore hip and pain in his neck and back for 2 days. He didn't hit his head luckily.

ATGATT works!

Hello,

Have you seen the new Joe Rocket Alter Ego Jacket?

Its really cool!! It is a 3 in one jacket that is such a great buy. It comes with a top layer jacket that is water proof as well as a Mesh jacket that can be detached when you come in to warmer weather and a fleece that is below the mesh jacket. I think a really cool feature of this jacket is that if your traveling and dont have too much space to house your jacket when you take the top layer off to use only the mesh layer the top layer folds it self into a neat pouch.

Don't buy a Polyester jacket. They are worthless in a slide. The best bang for the buck is by Rev'it or Olympia. The Switchback in neon green/black is good up to 100 degrees and is cut really nice for a woman.

Ebay

Hi Noell,

Have you looked on Ebay? I think I saw some on there a while back. If you are new to EBay or are skeptical, make sure you look at the sellers ratings. I usually go with a seller who has a 95% positive rating or better. Good luck and I hope you find one! Ride safe, girl.

This is the jacket that I wear (well, mine is all black, but I love the look of this white and silver one.)

So far in NC coastal humid heat I have not been uncomfortable at all as long as I'm going over 10 mph - the mesh in this jacket is very well positioned and there is a LOT of it.
