Stuck between two jackets

by Cathy G.
(Woodbridge, VA)

Hello,
I'm trying to decide between 2 jackets for riding in Seattle, WA.
1. Firstgear Kilimanjaro 4.0
2. Fieldsheer Adventure TX

I'm only 5'2" and easily disappear in large/bulky clothing. I want a jacket that is cozy- like fleece and microfiber soft material. I can't decide between these two jackets because I just can't get a good idea on how they would fit and how they rate on the cozy-factor. If anyone can relate, or has experience with these jackets, I would love the feedback.

About me: I am 38 yrs old, have been riding for only 2 yrs, started with a Ninja 250 and just got a Monster 695. I'm moving from Washington DC metropolitan to Seattle, WA and plan on commuting with my Ducati. My color of choice is RED, RED, RED!

Thanks for your advice,
Cathy

I vote for . . .

The Fieldsheer Adventure. Why?

1) Very flattering lines (especially the red one!)
2) Anatomically fitted for the riding position.
3) Removable CE approved armor in back, shoulders and elbows. (There's foam and then there's armor.)
4) The pockets! (including hand-warming pockets? Wow!)
5) Super abrasion resistant 1000 denier Teflon™ coated Maxtena® outer shell. (as opposed to 330 Denier Hypertex™ - 1000 sounds like it might be better than 330 but I'm not familiar with Hypertex or Maxtena.)
6) Can't beat the price!
7) Just looks like a really sharp, tailored jacket.

I'm sure both are great jackets - I just personally like the looks of the Fieldsheer. It doesn't look so bulky that you could disappear. ;^)

As for cozy like fleece, motorcycle jackets aren't cozy or soft. If they were, they wouldn't be tough enough to withstand a brush with the pavement. Nope, it may never happen to you, but it's best to be prepared. I've been down - my leathers saved my skin.
