I have a triumph t595. I took off the gas tank and emptied it. i put the gas tank on and forgot to put gas in it and started it. it stayed on for 5 seconds and shut off. then i put gas in it. i tried to start it again but it didn't want to start. what could be the problem?

dirty gas in carb
by: Lauren

If the petcock was not turned off, old gas has already settled in the fuel lines and carb. As it ages, it will separate and turn to something like molasses. You will need to take off the lines and carb and clean then too.

If you forgot to put gas in maybe you forgot to turn ON the fuel cut off switch? Most often its the easiest solutions.
