I had this recent nightmare....
by: Mary

Last weekend hubby and I took a ride to a restaurant we like. But it was in a different city than we'd been to before and I wasn't aware of the EXTREME SLOPE of the driveway! OMG! Hubby had to help me back into the parking spot, then when leaving we had like a 10 min discussion on how he shouldn't get on his bike until I was "up and away" in case I tipped it! I've only got about 500-600 miles under my tires so I'd say don't be afraid to ask for help. Hubby "held" me up for a bit until I got going....definately something to practice.

Sweet spot on the clutch
by: Nana

There is a spot when you are letting out your clutch that will allow the bike to remain still without using the brake. You are not moving forward and you are not rolling back - just staying in the sweet spot. Then when you need to move forward, just feather the clutch out while giving a little throttle and you will move forward. Find an incline and practice, practice, practice. But remember - everyone kills it sometimes. Even seasoned riders.

rear brake
by: Wanda

Hold your position with the rear brake. Ease out on the clutch while giving it a little more throttle than you would on level ground. Practice on gentle slopes, and then move up to steeper ones as you gain confidence. You'll master it in no time!
