Shorter Shifter

by Jill
(Virginia Beach, VA. )

I have small feet and even in my riding boots, the shifter hits the tip of my big toe. I am looking for a shorter shifter to fit my foot better. I ride a 2006 Sportster 883. I can't be the only one with this problem.

Try Custom Bike Shop for New Shifter or Pegs
by: Ashley -Sydney, Australia

I had to do my learner's course (part of our licensing rules in my part of Oz) on a bike where I couldn't reach the shifter. It was hard at first but I slowly adjusted to moving my foot of the peg and feeling where to shift but i still made shifter positioning a big determining factor in my bike purchasing!

If you can't get used to it and don't want to buy a whole new bike, try a custom bike shop. They would know of all the different shifter options and if they're really good, they can prob make/modify one specifically for you. Or of course, they might be able to change/move the pegs.

Don't give up!
