My Honda Rune

I have owned a Rune since April 2004 when I graduated from a Honda Shadow 750! I now have over 56,000 miles on my bike. My latest adventure was a 5300 miles trip from Jacksonville, Florida to the Grand Canyon and Telluride, Colorado with my husband in May!

I love to ride especially with my fellow Rune owners. We have several impromptu rides through out the year, including 5 days in the Outer Banks in April. Next month I lead a group from Roanoke, Va up through Gettysburg and into the Delaware Gap before heading south to Skyline Drive and the Blue Ridge into the Smokies for our 5th annual Rune Rally!

This year I expect to ride about 15,000 miles including several trips with my Rune family, my husband, brothers, and parents. All of us ride! It's great to do with the family.

So. Cal Rune Riders

I live in Murrieta, CA, east side of the Ortega's, it's ironic that last weekend 9/18/2011 I went over to Dana Point via Ortega Hwy and low and behold I see a rare sight, two Runes coming around the corner towards, I yell at my wife "check it out" but she doesn't get it. I wonder if these were the two brothers. I fell in love with the Rune over 5 years ago but only saw them in pictures. Finally I see a black one cruising down the I-215 and I really wasn't that impressed so I started looking at pro-street customs. I was just about ready to pull the trigger on a custom when I check the Cycle Trader and there's a Rune in Fallbrook for sale. I told myself, I owed to myself to check it out up close and personal. So I go to the guys house and as the garage door raises I fall in love. I wrote him a check without riding it, this was May, 2011, it had 8,400 and now 10,500. I used to ride 650 Bonnie back in the 71-74 but sold it to purchase a home, so I hadn't been on a bike in some 37 years but now I'm having the time of my life. I Found Those Two Rune Riders

I frequent Cook's Corner in Trabuco, Ca. It's one of 3 biker bars in So. Calif that I know of.

The other two would be Hell's Kitchen and The Rock Store in Agoura, Ca. Anyway, I finally ran into the two guys that prompted me to sell my 05 Road King which ended my lifetime of riding Harley's. One look at these two bikes (one cherry red and the other black) I was hooked.

They are two brothers that live in Dana Point. Bob and Rich. I told them my story and of course they laughed and understood how I could quit on Harley's like that. Bob bought his new out of the box for $36k! It was the cherry red one. It was still immaculate. I haven't met Donna yet but I write on the rune riders web all the time. They are all so good to me. My friend John aka skibum called me from New Jersey to help me fix a Rune problem. I never met him, just e-mailed for a short time.

Just bought 05 black Rune today.

I have been hooked on them since I rode with two of them from Laguna Beach to almost Dana Point, CA.
They let me look for awhile then hit the throttle. Just left me in the dust. My harley road king had no chance to catch them. This one came from Tamco on runriders out of Florida. I think you may know of him. I signed up as a new member. Very much want to contact other Rune owners.

I graduated from a Shadow 750 to a VTX 1300. Would like a Rune too, maybe someday. I'm jealous!
