Do they have roadside assistance services out there like AAA for Auto and if so, do you think it's worth getting?

Insurance

Be careful about insurance. Thought I had it but it would only cover if I actually wrecked the bike. I had a cam break on the road and they would not cover the tow bill. I should've ditched it and then called.

AAA has a motorcycle plan but I haven't really checked into it. I have coverage through HOG and, luckily, haven't had need of it so far.

BAM is Breakdown and Legal Assistance for Motorcycles. You can either call 1-800-4-Bikers or go to their website. www.8004bikers.com
They usually have a booth a most of the larger rallies too.

The best I found was the AMA, American Motorcycle Association. It was only $39 for basic, and they said they would cover both me and my husband.

Hi,

My motorcycle insurance comes with roadside coverage at either no extra charge or some really small amount. It was well worth it for me. My first bike was brand new but was a lemon. In the first 6 months it stopped on me 3 times. Two times I had it towed with my roadside assistance.

BMW MOA
by: Wanda

If you decide to ride a BMW and join the BMW Motorcycle Owner's of America, they have an "Anonymous" book. It is a list of phone numbers organized by city and state of folks you can call to come help you in an emergency. Names are not given, hence the "Anonymous" title. It is a free, voluntary service that members provide to each other. The phone listings include the type of help being offered at that number such as coffee and conversation, willingness to travel long distances, trailer pickup, space to work on motorcycle, tools available, mechanical help available, spare bed, tent space, etc. It's a really cool network to be a part of.
