Ride to Work Day

Ride to Work Day

I was wondering how many people were able to ride to work today to celebrate Ride to Work Day? I am lucky to live in SW Florida where I can ride to work nearly everyday and live 7 miles from work. I keep extra clothes and shoes there so I don't have to bring them. If I don't ride the security guards always want to know why. My motorcycle gets around 45 mpg, my car 24 mpg so I save money on gas. I know a lot of people cannot ride due to location or type of job, but for those of us who can, it is a joy! Sometimes I even take the long way home to enjoy a nice evening and end up putting on 50+ miles.

Wish I Could Ride Mine to Work!

Like I said I wish I could ride one of my bikes to work everyday, but you see I work at home so I wouldn't get to ride very far. lol Maybe from the garage back to the house. lol Anyway it would be a really great way to start each and every day around here. It is so hot here in Houston, TX this time of year that the A/C in the car is much nicer anyway especially the a/c seats. lol We have mild winters and get to ride most all winter long which I really do rub that in most every year when everyone up north is snowed in! I do enjoy riding as often as possible, but this heat is really bad near 100 degrees everyday so far this June. Electric bill is showing it too!

Wow, I didn't know it was ride your bike to work day. I did ride my bike and it was the first time. I did a practice run on Sunday. I am fairly new to riding and getting comfortable on my bike. You have a great bike. When I get comfortable enough I will go on the highway, but for now back roads are great. Still working on feeling good about the turning. My bike is a 1999 Honda Shadow VLX Deluxe. I love her.

Hi,

I live in NE Fl and ride to work too...about 7 miles. What a great way to start the day! Out of the state for the summer so miss riding but it will be sweet again when we get home....

You look like you are enjoying yourself!

Ride to Work Day

I'd love to ride to work, and will as soon as I can confidently navigate the very steep downhill entrance to the parking garage, the key-less entree at the bottom, and the very tight u-turn after going under the gate the swings up to let me in! It's all quite intimidating!

Ride to Work

Yeh. I rode to work today. Went in early cause there was a huge thunder boomer looming and it hit here just at 7:30. I ride to work everyday. Rain or shine. It's my main transportation. Grocery getter, kid picker upper, and my after work therapy, done a world of good for my marriage too.
