Rain Gear

by Juteboxplayer

Want to know what I should look for in Rain Gear? Waterproof for sure but are there any styles, fabric that work better than others? What fabric or material should I stay away from? Any benefits in getting rain sleeves for my boots?

Thanks, Juteboxplayer

Love this rain gear...

My husband and I both use "Frog Togs". They come in a variety of colors and styles for men and women. The material is almost like plasticy-paper, very durable. It repels rain wonderfully, the water never gets through to the other side of the fabric. My frog togs also act as a windbreaker, blocking the biting wind you can encounter when riding in the rain. They dry quickly after use and roll up to almost nothing in the nice little storage bag that they come with. The only down side is that I burnt a hole in mine on my pipes. The vendor I purchased from gave me a swatch of fabric to patch the hole with, and I now have a piece of ironing board cover to velcro on my leg to keep this from happening again. My husband had no such trouble with burning a hole in his gear, I think it was due to my riding style and that my legs are so close to my bike when I am at a stop.
