Turn engine off make sure it's in gear so as you lift, it doesn't start to roll. TURN THE HANDLEBAR SO THE TIRE IS POINTING DOWN. TURN YOUR BACK TO THE BIKE. SQUAT DOWN, grab handle bar and find a hand hold somewhere in the middle of the bike. USUALLY THIS WILL BE THE EDGE OF THE SEAT OR PREFERABLE THE FRAME, IF YOU CAN GET TO IT. bend your knees and start to lift. DON'T TRY TO LIFT THE BIKE STRAIGHT UP, USING BRUTE FORCE. LEAN INTO IT, PLANTING YOUR BUTT ON THE EDGE OF THE SEAT AND PUSHING/LEANING WITH YOUR BODY. If you can't do it alone ask for help, you won't be the first person and you sure won't be the last. AMEN, SISTER. THERE IS NO SHAME IN ASKING FOR HELP.

Turn Your Back to the Bike
by: Angie

The first response lacked a critical piece of information: you need to have your back to the bike as you lift it. Also very important: if it fell on it's right side, be sure to flip the kickstand down before trying to pick it up. If you don't, you'll be holding it up from the right side and if no one is there with you, you'll have to mount it from the right side, which ain't the easiest thing to do while you're also trying to balance it.... if you put the kickstand down, you can then rest it on it after you get it up. Learned this one the hard way...!

Get Help!
by: Sassy2731

I also have a Roadking, and I am only 5'2" and I know for a fact that I am not strong enough to pick it up by myself. How do I know this? Cause I can not even raise it up off the kickstand it I park it wrong. I have to ask someone to help me out. I have now learned to be careful of where I park it! Just never feel bad about asking for help.
