Just learning. Here I am taking some loops in a parking lot while my Hubby teaches me - getting me ready for my 2 day basic riders course. What fun! Can't wait to hit the real streets. She's a 2011 Vulcan 900 Custom!!!

I started in a school parking lot. My b/f helped me to get started before the riders class. In Florida you have to take the class before you get your endorsement. I got mine in Sept.2011. I never thought I would ride my own. I am so glad he helped me to stsrt riding my own. I have a 01 Vulcan 1500 Classic. They are great bikes.

I have been riding since age 46, now 56! Love it, started in a school parking lot with my husband, just like you. I rode for a few years, then I took the class, I still learn alot from the class. I also reallize all of my husband back habits. He laughs because I won't ride with him anymore, I prefer being in control and the way driving the bike makes me relax. Ride safe and remember to watch out for cars that don't pay attention!

You looked great!! That is what my husband did for me as well. I have had my license for over a year now; and just started a few weeks ago riding on the highways. That was a big step and scarey one, but I did it. Just take your time, enjoy your ride, get comfy with it and most of all be safe. When you start out on the neighborhood streets, get some gum to chew. That keeps you from holding your jaws tight. That works great for me on the highways. don't forget your safety equipment and good luck.

No need to practice before class.

The instructors will teach you all you need to know. You want to learn techniques properly and not pick up any bad habits (like I did). It's easier to learn it right the first time than it is to un-learn bad habits later.
