Pants vs. Armor Shorts

by Deb
(Apalachin, N.Y.)

I was looking into buying knee pads and protective shorts to wear under my jeans vs. buying some chaps or pants. Love to hear what people choose and why. I ride a 2002 Yamaha Vstar custom.

Riding Pants

I got these, off Ebay for 20 bucks.

Joe Rocket Atomic Pants

Joe Rocket Pants

I confess when I'm around town, I just wear jeans. Dumb yeah, since most accidents happen close to home. I wear these if I'm gonna be all day, or going for a week tour.

Joe Rocket Atomic. pockets in knee and hips, has foam padding, but you can put hard kind in it.

I also have chaps. Chaps really cut the wind, those pants don't. I have some severe weather riding pants, with quilted liners, but I don't have the armor in it. It has pockets, but none. I haven't used much. Joe rocket mainly.
