Ouray KOA, Ouray Colorado

by Lucas
(Colorado Springs)

My wife and I recently took a 14 day vacation though Utah and to ride the western slopes of Colorado. The best campground that we stayed in was the Ouray KOA. After signing up for a tent site the manager peaked out the window and said "Oh, motorcycles... I ride too, and we have specific motorcycle site if you would like" We asked where they were and she pointed out the window to a nice grassy area ~2 acres with large Spruce trees intersperched for shade. She told us to just cop a squat anywhere we would like. There were water hydrants, and fire rings located throughout the area. Best of all, we just pulled the bikes up on the grass next to where we wanted to set up the tents. Nice store and GREAT facilities, which the motorcycle camping was across the road from but not near as far out as the "regular" campsites. This was a great campground, friendly management, and a few surrounding hot springs to warm you up after crossing numerous 10,000 ft passes in mid May.

A great nights sleep :)
