Our Honda

My husband and I wanted a bike for many years (our son rides a Yamaha R6), and we decided a month ago to use my retirement money (since I was laid off in November 2009) and purchase this bike from a very reliable source..it is a 2005 Honda Shadow Sabre..and we love it. Now we can ride as an entire family..I'm just a passenger, but I love it..it's been my dream !

That is sooo funny! I did the same thing when I was laid off (company closed) in July of 2009. Figured the measly $5000 from my 401K plan was never going to do much for me, and I've wanted to learn to ride since I was 10...so I took $3,000 and bought a nicely maintained 1993 Honda Shadow VLX Deluxe. Didn't do well with the riding course in 2009, but passed w/ flying colors this spring and have been loving it ever since. That was the BEST thing to come out of the crumby job. So glad I didn't save for a rainy day! My wish for you (if you wish it for yourself) is that someday you learn to ride the bike yourself. There is nothing...NOTHING like it. As a woman, I feel empowered every time I get on it. I enjoy riding by myself more than riding with my boyfriend - I like being able to stop and go when I choose - and I love that people come up and approach me all the time to ask questions. HAVE FUN!!!

Good for You!

I realize these are hard economic times, but I am so glad you purchased the bike. The memories you will make riding are priceless. I am just purchasing a Honda Shadow VLX Deluxe, my first 2-wheeler. I will be practicing on that so I can move up to a bigger bike. We have a Goldwing Trike but I am so excited about the Shadow. Happy Riding!!!
