Just thought I would show you one of my favourite snaps. This was taken in summer in Albany, Western Australia. I ride a F650GS Dakar. As you can see, I am 6 foot (with my riding boots on)! So the Dakar is just perfect for me. Plus I can carry a whole assortment of gear on it. I have since changed from the aluminum panniers to Soft Panniers. They act like cushions when wanting to put your bike down. Well everyone needs a lay down every-now-and-again! I couldn't get my jacket/jeans/boots off quick enough to get into the nice cool water.

On the Beach

Thanks Robin. Albany actually received the "Cleanest Beach in Western Australia" last month. I think the advantages of having a website like this is that women of different walks of life and different countries can all get together to share experiences. Also, if anyone decides to travel abroad they can count on a friend in a strange place. Well, maybe not exactly "strange". I know if anyone is thinking of coming to West Auz, I have a spare room and space in the shed for another bike....! * memo to self. Must post up a Ride Report.

Your Dakar Rocks--so does Albany!

Hey Ev, I'm very impressed! My Dakar is on the boat, ready to arrive in less than 3 weeks from Japan! I can't wait. Off road is a real passion for me too & I'm not short-legged so I think it's going to be just perfect here in Uganda! Post more. This photo's terrific! Albany must be so pure & untouched. Impressive.

Long Way Round

Yes, I have watched that series 3x. I have now hidden the cd's so that my husband cannot persuade me to watch them again. However, if I had the financial back-up I would love to do what Charlie & Ewan did. My hubby rides a BMW1200GSA and can ride virtually anywhere. (although we've never ridden in snow) Makes me jealous!

Wow

What an inspiration, great photo! I have a BMW R1150RT and now I want one to go off road with, the F650GS Dakar looks like it can do the job, and that is really off road. I have just finished the series "Long Way Round" and am seeing more reasons to try off road riding.
