Not so much a question as a

by Michelle
(Brampton, Ontario, canada)

Anyway, I've asked a few questions on here before and gotten some very good advice.

I have had a bike for a few months but had hardly ridden it. It was was too big. I was going to a class yesterday to improve my riding but I dropped the bike 3 time getting out of my backyard and onto the street. I didn't end up going to the class by the time I got everything sorted out. Anyway I was like...."Screw this. I'm not having any fun. I'm starting to think riding may not be for me, but I want to give it one more go". So I put an ad on kijiji to sell or trade and this morning a nice man who wanted a larger bike so his daughter would be more comfortable on the back came to see about a trade. He looked over my bike I looked over his. We each went for a test drive around the block.

As soon as I took my first corner I remembered why I had wanted to ride in the first place. Apparently my goldwing was just what he wanted as well so we swapped plates and ownership on the spot (we both had a friend who knew about bikes check out the bikes for us).

I went for a drive afterwords and it was awesome. I could control this new bike some much easier and I felt safer going around corners and at higher speeds. I had fun and only felt the rational fear of someone learning instead of the intense fear of someone in way over their head.

My old bike 1983 Honda goldwing 1100i. My new bike is a 1983 Honda nighthawk 750.

So thank you all for your "Try starting off on something smaller advice". Although I never asked that question on here I did read all of your advice to other people and it was good advice.

PS my new bike is prettier too :)

Nice move
by: Anonymous

The Honda Goldwing 1100 was on of the most top heavy, bulky bikes ever made. Even big ole guys have a hard time with them.
Good move to the Night Hawk, lite, easy to ride.

Nice move! I love my nighthawk. It's a great starter. Like a blank slate, I can move on to any bike from here - cruiser, sport, maybe cafe. who knows. nice to meet another nighthawk chick. ;)
