Newbie

Hey, I'm a newbie about motorcycles stuff. I've learned a little bit about them. I really am interested in owning one. I really admire them a lot. I was wondering if there's any tips on a girl that's 5', 102lbs, what kind of motorcycle do you think would be a good asset to me? I really really want one. I need something a bit lower on the price.. Seeing as I'm trying to save up for one..

Thank you (: (: (:

First Bike

If you like the look of cruisers, try the Honda Rebel or Shadow. If your after the more sexy look of a sportbike the Ninja 250 is a great starter bike. All of these are on the shorter & lighter side..

Good luck!

Choosing your bike...
by: Sandra

Julie's right - just like you gotta kiss a lot of frogs to find your prince, you gotta sit on a lot of bikes to find your ride!!

Go to a dealer, and then another, go to a bike show and ask different owners if they mind letting you sit on their bike (let them know you are trying to find a good height/weight for your first bike); bikers tend to be a helpful and friendly lot!

Go to the web-sites and decide Touring bike, cruiser, sport-bike, scooter, off-road...your personal taste will come into play BIG time. Personally, I don't like anything about the sport-bike styling...nothing against those who LOVE them...I'm just a Cruiser Girl at heart. If you love the sport bike look, my suggestion of a Suzuki TU250 or a Honda Rebel is gonna fall FLAT! But they are great bikes, in a smaller size that can be a wonderful first bike. I also suggest buying pre-owned, as you may find yourself looking at bigger and better bikes as your skills improve.

Also, remember, there are several ways to make a bike fit you better; your ride should fit you like your favorite jeans!

Have fun shopping - good luck!

For the newbie:)

I would recommend to sit on as many bikes as you can. Us vertically challenged women are limited but there is a good selection out there. Depends if you want a cruiser or a sport bike. I am riding a 250 Ninja which I totally luv. I have been riding 2 months and as many people will agree the Ninja is an excellent bike to learn on and they are totally sexy:) Ride safe! Look under your bikes on this site many women on 250 Ninja's including me :)
