New Bike

New Bike

I was finally able to go pick up my new bike today. V Strom 650 I will post picks as soon as I get them it was too dark when we got home. It is just a hair too tall for me but I am able to handle it so far without to much trouble just wish I could flat foot it but it is so comfortable. Will be putting the lowering links on next week when I get back in town and then I think it will be perfect I should be able to flat foot then. Cant wait to get to riding.

Lowering Bike

Thanks for suggestions. I actually have thought about changing seat and am still weighing that option. I think actually its not the seat height but the width. I can actually sit on seat and hold bike straight up with left foot flat on ground and right foot on peg brake, it's just that seat is so wide I cant put both all way down at same time. Was thinking about shaving front of seat so it is a little narrower.

If you do that (which is a better suggestion than lowering the suspension), make sure you have the foam shaved from the BOTTOM of the seat so the cover can still go on tight and fit correctly!

Maybe Lower the Seat

You might want to consider taking the bike to an auto seat upholsterer and lower the seat a little instead of messing with the physical dynamics of the bike. I have done that on 3 bikes - works, as long as it's enough lower. Just a suggestion...
