New 2007 Suzuki DR200SE

by Lee
(Indiana)

I just bought a new dr200 and was starting it in the garage. It starts fine and will idle fine but when I go to shift into first the bike stalls and dies. Should I let the bike warm up more? It was a little cold out. Or am I doing something wrong here? I've ridden dirt bikes and my brother in-laws Suzuki 350 and I didn't do anything I've never done with those bikes with the dr200. I just got it and it's never been ridden so maybe it's just because it's new. Any suggestions?

Kick Stand Safety
by: Barbara

Most bike have a safety feature. If you start your bike then put it in gear and your kick stand is down it will shut the bike off.

This keeps you riding off with the kick stand down.
Just remember to put kick stand up first, THEN put it in gear.

Bike Dies

Does your bike have a switch on the underneath side of your kickstand? Mine did that and had to replace /disconnect it. It's a safety feature. Try that.
