My Own Set of Handle Bars

ST 1300 Girl

It seemed like the only time my husband and I had alone, while raising a house full of kids, was when we went for a ride on his Road King. It was so romantic and I loved it. But then I learned that one third of all new Harley's were sold to women and I thought "I can do that!" I raised six kids...I got a Nursing Degree....I can learn how to ride a motorcycle.... So I did it. I took a motorcycle safety class, got my endorsement and I now ride a beautiful Honda ST 1300. It is so smooth and quick. I had an older gentleman ask me to give him a ride on the back. I joked with him that I hadn't ridden anyone on the back yet and I might kill him. He said "yah...but what a way to go." My kids worry a little about me now...pay back? My husband and I are having a great time, and for some reason it is more romantic than ever...could it be the ST? ;->

Great!

I love your mentality! But I know how you feel. My hubby and I don't have kids, but things like that cross my mind. When we ride 2UP, I feel like my hubby is the best person to ride with. He's sooo cautious and doesn't put himself in bad situations. But then you think of the other drivers...you can't control them. Then I go back to thinking about how you can control yourself using rider radar! Scoping out every situation, turn, stop, etc really makes a world of difference. I haven't ridden as much as my husband but I'm hoping to ride more soon. I'm proud of you for riding. I hear about so many people (husbands) say they don't ride because of their family/kids. Where I understand where they are coming from, I still think of how many people ride with families and have been riding for years. You only hear about the people who die in crashes...you don't hear about the people who have been riding for so long and have not had problems. Well done! I'm proud of you!

I believe it's the fact that you ride your own, and he's proud of you.
